About Beatrice Martin

Better known by the stage name of “Coeur de pirate,” this French Canadian indie pop vocalist and songwriter was nominated for 2009 and 2012 Juno Awards for her albums Couer de pirate and Blonde. She won Felix Awards for the same two albums.


She began playing the piano at the age of three and went on to attend the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal. She released her first album in 2008.


In 2011, she performed a Buddy Holly cover for a television commercial for the Activia yogurt brand.

She and her husband, tattoo artist Alex Peyrat, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Romy, in September of 2012.
