About Bill O Brien
Became head coach of the Houston Texans in 2014 after serving as head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions from 2012 to 2013; named Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2012 while also receiving the Paul “Bear” Bryant Award for the NCAA s top head coach.
He played defensive end and linebacker at Brown University from 1990 to 1992.
His first NFL job came with the New England Patriots; between 2007 and 2011, he filled many roles for the team, working as an assistant, as well as a specialist for the wide receivers and quarterbacks. In his last season with the team he was promoted to offensive coordinator.
