About Bob Packwood

Republican politician who served as a Senator of Oregon from 1969 until he resigned in 1995 due to allegations of sexual harassment and assault of women emerged.


He received a degree from New York University Law School, where he earned national awards in moot court competition and was elected student body president.


He was a rare pro-choice republican who, two years before Roe v. Wade, introduced the Senate s first abortion legalization bill.
