About Steve Kerr

Became the head coach of the Golden State Warriors in 2014 and led the team to NBA Championships in 2015, 2017 and 2018. During his NBA career, he was known for his three-point shooting, winning three NBA Championships alongside Michael Jordan on the Chicago Bulls and another two with the San Antonio Spurs.  

Early life

He grew up in the Middle East, attending Cairo American University in Egypt before transferring to Pacific Palisades High School. He starred at the University of Arizona from 1983 to 1988 and his #25 jersey was later retired by the school.

Trivia

With the Bulls, he hit the series clinching shot against the Utah Jazz in Game 6 of the 1997 NBA Finals, the most historic moment in his playing career.

Family of Steve Kerr

He married Margot Kerr in 1990 and he has three children: Madeleine, Matthew and Nicholas. He is the son of Malcolm Kerr, a Middle East political expert.

About Phil Jackson

Legendary NBA coach who won an amazing eleven NBA titles as a coach: six with the Chicago Bulls and five with Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers. He was President of the New York Knicks from 2014 to 2017. 

Early life

He played college basketball at North Dakota from 1964 to 1967 and went on to play in the NBA with the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets.

Trivia

He won NBA Championships as a player with the Knicks in 1970 and 1973 and was an NBA All-Rookie First Team selection with the Knicks in 1968.

Family of Phil Jackson

He has five children named Ben, Charlie, Elizabeth, Chelsea and Brooke. He was married to Maxine Jackson from 1967 to 1972 and June Jackson from 1974 to 2000. During the end of his marriage to June, he began dating Jeanie Buss, the daughter of Lakers owner Jerry Buss. The couple got engaged in January 2013, but broke off their engagement in December 2016.

About Roy Williams

Hall of Fame men’s basketball coach known for his success at both the University of Kansas and the University of North Carolina. He became the first coach to lead two different schools to at least four Final Fours and won NCAA Championships in 2005, 2009, and 2017 with North Carolina.

Early life

He played for North Carolina’s freshman team and, while still in school, watched Dean Smith lead varsity practices. He eventually became an assistant coach under Smith.

Trivia

He won the Associated Press Coach of the Year award twice, once at Kansas and once at UNC.

He married Wanda Williams in 1973. He and Wanda have a son named Scott and a daughter named Kimberly.

Legendary college basketball figure who has coached Duke to five NCAA basketball titles in 1991, 1992, 2001, 2010 and 2015. He also coached the US men’s Olympic basketball team to gold in 2008 and 2012.

Early life

He graduated from West Point.

Trivia

He surpassed Bobby Knight for the most wins as a coach in NCAA division one history and became the first division one basketball coach to earn 1,000 career wins on January 25, 2015 when his Blue Devils defeated St. Johns.
