About Clare Nancy Russell

Scottish noblewoman who was the Lady Laird of Ballindalloch Castle and, later, the first female Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire.

Early life

She was the daughter of Sir Ewan George Macpherson-Grant, the 6th Baronet of Ballindalloch, and she inherited her father’s castle and estate upon his 1983 death.

Trivia

She began serving on the board of the Children’s Hospice Association of Scotland in 1986.
