About Cecil Day-Lewis
Irish poet, novelist, nonfiction author, translator, and one-time United Kingdom Poet Laureate. His numerous literary works include From Feathers to Iron (poems), A Question of Proof (novel), and The Buried Day (autobiography).
His mother died in 1906, and he was brought up by his father in London, England.
He wrote several mystery novels, beginning in 1945, under the pseudonym of Nicholas Blake.
