About Larry Bird

Boston Celtics forward known as “Larry the Legend,” who won three NBA MVP awards, three NBA Championships, and played in 12 All-Star games. He is widely considered one of the greatest players in NBA history. 


He became the all-time leading scorer at Springs Valley High School in Indiana before his college basketball career at Indiana State, where he was named national player of the year in 1979. 


After retiring from the NBA, he became the president of basketball operations for the Indiana Pacers.

He married his high school sweetheart Janet Condra after enrolling at Indiana State, but then spanorced her before going to the pros. He then married Dinah Mattingly in 1989 and he has three children, a pair of daughters named Corrie and Mariah and a son named Connor.
