About Etiene Medeiros

Professional athlete rose to become widely regarded as the best female Brazilian swimmer of all time. She was the first woman from her country to win an inspanidual gold medal at the FINA World Swimming Championships and at the Pan American Games.


She won a silver medal at the 2008 FINA Youth World Swimming Championships at the age of 17.


In 2014, she broke the world record in the 50-meter backstroke with a time of 25.67 seconds.
