About Cheryl Porter

American jazz singer and performer who is best recognized for her gospel based music and her jazz inspired singing style. She is best recognized for having released the singles “Imagine”, “Oh Happy Day”, and “Se Telefonando”. 


She attended Northern Illinois University, where she earned a scholarship to study opera singing. She then moved to Italy in 1995 to pursue her opera career but transitioned into gospel and jazz music, releasing her debut in 2005 entitled In The Spirit. 


She is also known for having performed The Circle of Life in the live action remake of the Disney The Lion King film.
