About Christopher Darden

Prosecuting attorney whose fifteen-year career with the Los Angeles County District Attorney s Office became defined by his role in the OJ Simpson trial. He was fired when he failed to convince the jury to convict the former NFL star.


After graduating from San Jose State University with a degree in criminal justice, he attended the University of California, Hastings, where he received his Juris Doctor in 1980.


Although defined by his inability to convict Simpson, he tried 27 total homicide cases during his career and was honored by the Loved Ones of Homicide Victims organization with the Crystal Heart Award in 1998.

He has three children with Marcia Carter, who he married in 1997. He has two other children from relationships prior to his marriage to Carter.
