About Clifford Jordan

Big band leader and jazz tenor saxophonist who made his name in Chicago, New York City, and internationally. He recorded with Blue Note.


He got his start in Chicago playing with Max Roach and other blues groups before moving to New York to further his career.


He toured in Africa and Europe extensively.

He was married to Shirley Jordan, the owner of and designer at Clothing Manufacturing Corporation, but remarried Sandy Jordan, who was not only a graphic artist but also a board member of the Jazz Foundation of America.
