After rising to fame for her debut picture book, In the Tall, Tall Grass, this author and artist published the work s Caldecott Medal-finalist sequel, In the Small, Small Pond.


She earned a degree in illustration from Michigan s Kendall College of Art and Design.


Her 1998 work, Mama Cat Has Three Kittens, was designated an ALA (American Library Association) Notable Book.
