About Dian Fossey
American zoologist who studied gorilla groups in Rwanda and was an advocate against poaching. Her 1983 book, Gorillas in the Mist shed light on the mountain gorillas at Karisoke Research Center.
Early Life of Dian Fossey
She received a bachelor s degree in occupational therapy from San Jose State College.
Her murder in 1985 is still unsolved but people believe that she was killed those who viewed her as an impediment to the touristic and financial exploitation of the gorillas.
Family Life
Her father, George E. Fossey III, was a US Navy sailor. She was romantically involved with National Geographic photographer Bob Campbell.
