About Ed Templeton

Artist, photographer, professional skateboarder, and bookmaker who is known for being the founder of Toy Machine skateboards. He is also known for his street photography and has published several photo books through the Little Big Man publishing company. 


He first started skating in Huntington Beach when he became friends with fellow skateboarder turned actor Jason Lee. He eventually turned professional for New Deal Skateboards in 1990. 


He is also a contemporary artist known for his photography and paintings. He was a part of the Beautiful Losers gallery show at the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, Ohio where his work was featured alongside Harmony Korine, Barry McGee, Shepard Fairey, and Mike Mills.

He was born and raised in Garden Grove, Orange County, California and married fellow street photographer and artist Deanna Templeton.

As creator of Toy Machine Skateboards, he has helped launch the careers of team riders Leo Romero, Daniel Lutheran, and CJ Collins.
