About Edwin Orion Brownell

Neoclassical composer who successfully used blues as an influence on classical music. He was praised for his highly melodic style.


He was a professional rock n roll musician in his later teen years.


He founded Edwin and the Bedouins after he relocated to Montreal in 1990. The band toured widely, traversing eastern Canada and North Africa. The group marked its 20th anniversary in 2013.
