About Emelia Górecka

British middle and long-distance runner who won six gold medals in junior competition between 2010 and 2013 at the European Cross Country Championships. She made her senior running debut in 2014.


She grew up studying ballet before picking up running. She quickly started outpacing girls much older than she was and eventually set the British U15 mile record for girls.


Starting in 2008, she was forced to wear a body for three years to help manage her scoliosis, able to run only during the few hours per week she was allowed out of the brace.
