About Emily Giffin

An American author known for her work in the “chick lit” genre, she is famous for novels such as Love the One You re With (2009) and Heart of the Matter (2010). Her debut work, Something Borrowed (2004), was adapted into a 2011 film.


She studied English and history at Wake Forest University in North Carolina and subsequently earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia s School of Law. In 2001, she gave up her law career, moved to London, and began writing novels.


She published the book, Where We Belong, in 2012.
