About Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi
Co-founder and former leader of the Palestinian extremist organization Hamas, who operated out of the Gaza Strip. He was ardently opposed to the existence of Israel, and was later killed by the Israeli Air Force.
He studied pediatrics and genetics at Alexandria University in Egypt and was certified as a physician.
He had a horrific childhood that included being a refugee and witnessing his family members being killed by Israeli soldiers.
