About August Gailit
Estonian writer who rose to prominence during the first half of the Twentieth Century. His best-known works include the novels Muinasmaa and Toomas Nipernaadi.
His first short story, “Kui Paike Laheb Looja,” was published in 1910.
He co-founded a literary group called Siuru in 1917. Erotic poems written by members of the group were considered scandalous by the general public.
