About Don Davis

Most famous for his distinctive, atonal musical score for the popular film The Matrix (and its sequels), this cinematic composer also worked on The Good Life, Jurassic Park III, and numerous other movies. Also a television composer, he won Emmy Awards for his work on SeaQuest DSV and Beauty and the Beast.


After studying at the University of California-Los Angeles, he assisted television composer Mark Snow on the early 1980s series Hart to Hart. His first film score was written for the Wachowski brothers 1996 thriller, Bound.


His debut opera, Río de Sangre, premiered at Wisconsin s Florentine Opera Company in late 2010.

He was born and raised in Anaheim, California. In the mid-1980s, he married Megan MacDonald.
