About Doug LaMalfa
Republican politician rose to become the U.S. Representative for California s 1st congressional district in 2013.
He graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor s degree in Agricultural Business and went on to manage the family farming business originally founded by his great-grandfather in 1931.
He served in the California State Senate, representing the 4th district, from 2010 to 2012, where he opposed a bill that would require history teachers in all California public schools to teach history of homosexuality and gay civil rights.
