About Fenton Robinson

Chicago blues guitarist who was nominated for a Grammy Award for his second album, I Hear Some Blues Downstairs, in 1977.


He moved to Chicago, like so many of his fellow blues musicians, to escape the plantation work of the South.


He was as big in Japan, where he was called “the mellow blues genius,” as he was stateside.
