About Giorgio Manganelli
Perhaps most well known for his Viareggio Prize-winning, avant-garde short story collection Centuria (1979), this Italian fiction writer, essayist, translator, journalist, and literary critic is also remembered for nearly fifty other works, including Agli Dei Ulteriori (1972) and La Letteratura Come Menzogna (1967).
In the 1960s, while a member of an experimental writers society called Gruppo 63, he penned and published an early-career work titled Hilarotragoedia.
Several of his most famous works were translated into English by Henry Martin.
