About James Mercer
Founder, guitarist, and singer-songwriter for the rock group The Shins. He has also been involved with the group Broken Bells, among other projects.

He traveled a lot as a child because his father was in the U.S. Air Force. His first serious band was called Blues Roof Dinner.
