About Joey Wendle

Second baseman who was a key piece of the Tampa Bay Rays World Series runner-up squad in 2020. He previously finished his 2018 rookie season for the club as their Outstanding Rookie winner. 


He led West Chester University to a victory at the 2012 NCAA Division II Baseball Tournament. He was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the sixth round of that year s MLB Draft.


In 2018, he led all rookies in wins above replacement, batting average, on-base percentage, and triples while platooning for the Tampa Bay Rays. He finished fourth in the American League Rookie of the Year voting that same year.
