About John Kongos

South African singer-songwriter most famous for hit singles like “He s Gonna Step On You Again” and “Tokoloshe Man.” He has since made a name for himself in the world of commercial jingle and theme music composing.


He got his start in the music industry as the leader of the band Johnny and the G-Men in the 60 s.


The Guinness Book of Records named his 1971 song “He s Gonna Step On You Again” the first song ever to use a sample.
