About Mel Stottlemyre

Former major league pitcher who was selected to 5 career All-Star games and won 5 World Series as a coach. He played 11 seasons in MLB all for the New York Yankees and coached for 23 seasons for various teams.


He joined the major leagues in 1964, when he pitched against Bob Gibson in the World Series.


He became a pitching coach for the New York Mets in 1986.
