About Julio Ramon Ribeyro
Twentieth-century Peruvian author known for his pessimistic, autobiographical short stories. His stories were published collectively as La palabra del mudo (The Word of the Mute).

He studied both literature and law at the Universidad Catolica in Lima, Peru. He published his first short story collection, Los gallinazos sin plumas, in 1954.
