About Tariq Trotter
American rapper better known by his stage name Black Thought. He co-founded the Philadelphia-based hip hop group The Roots in 1987.
He performed on the Philadelphia streets in a duo with drummer Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson after meeting him in 1987.
He won a Grammy Award as part of The Roots in 2000 for Best Rap Performance by a Duo/Group for the song, You Got Me.
