About Trevor Gillmeister

Former rugby footballer nicknamed “The Axe” who won two NSWRL Premierships and one World Club Challenge with the Brisbane Broncos. He was given the Australian Sports Medal in 2000.


He got his start playing football in Gladstone and debuted with Brisbane when he was eighteen years old.


He was named Brisbane s Player of the Year in 1991, his first year with the team.
