About Francesca Martinez

English stand-up comedian who has performed sold-out shows in countries around the globe, including Australia, Ireland, Singapore and the United States. She has cerebral palsy and is known as a strong advocate for the disabled, for which she has been recognized with honors like the Public Affairs Achiever of the Year Award.


She began appearing on the BBC1 children s drama series Grange Hill in 1994. She would go on to appear in more than 60 episodes of the show.


Her 2014 book What the **** is Normal?! became a bestseller and was nominated for the Chortle Comedy “Best Book” Award as well as The Bread And Roses Radical Publishing Award.
