About Frederic E. Mohs

Physician remembered for his Mohs Micrographic Surgery Technique of skin cancer removal. The procedure was particularly effective in the excision of dermatological cancers of the neck and head.


He completed his medical training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.


His technique allowed doctors to map cancerous cells in such a way that they could remove not only the visible cancer, but also the roots of the malignancy.
