Stage and screen actress first known for bringing to life Joanne Jefferson on Broadway s Rent. She then went on to star as Rafiki in The Lion King and earn roles in Showtime s The Big C and the 2015 film Maggie s Plan.


She graduated from New York University before beginning her career on Broadway.


She is the founder and president of Big Spoon Productions, a film and television production company.
