About Gail Emms

English badminton player who won the mixed doubles title at the BWF World Championships as well as the Commonwealth Games in 2006. She won a silver medal representing England at the 2004 Summer Olympics and retired from the sport shortly after participating in the 2008 Summer Olympics.


She started playing badminton at age 4 and attended the private girls school Dame Alice Harpur School in Bedford. She graduated with a BSc in Sports Science from Kingston University in 1998.


In march 2014 she appeared on the BBC game show Sport Relief s Top Dog along with her dog Raffa, who ended up winning the competition.

Her first child, Harry, was born in 2010. Her second child, Oliver, was born in 2013.
