Early Life Experience of George W Sears
He developed an early interest in writing about outdoor life after reading American Indian literature.
Most of his works dealt with conservationism, and his most successful book, “Woodcraft,” remained in print 100 years after its initial publication.
Family Life and Relationship
He grew up in South Oxford (which is now Webster), Massachusetts, where he was the eldest of 10 children.
He took a voyage on a whaler to the South Pacific, during the same year that Herman Melville did the same thing, from the same port.
