About Gordon Jackson
Famous for playing Angus Hudson on the ITV series Upstairs, Downstairs, Jackson is also remembered for portraying George Cowley on another ITV show, The Professionals.
Early Life of Gordon Jackson
During his early years, he contributed to a BBC radio program called Children s Hour. In his early twenties, while working for the Rolls Royce company, he was cast in his first film, The Foreman Went to France.
In the early 1950s, he performed in a London stage production of Seagulls Over Sorrento.
Family Life
He and his four older siblings grew up in Glasgow, Scotland. His marriage to stage and screen actress Rona Anderson produced sons named Roddy and Graham and lasted from 1951 until his death in 1990.
Associated With
He costarred with Bryan Brown and Helen Morse in the 1981 television movie A Town Like Alice, winning a Logie Award for his performance as attorney Noel Strachan.
