About Gus Risman
Former rugby league footballer who won the 1942 Challenge Cup as a player-coach for the Leeds Rhinos at the age of forty-one. He was made a member of the Rugby League Hall of Fame in 1988.

He was born in Cardiff and began his professional rugby career with Salford in 1929.
A street in the English town of Workington was christened with the name Risman Place in his memory.
