About Hank Williams Sr.

Born Hiram King Williams, this legendary country star released 35 Top-10 singles on the Billboard Country & Western Best Sellers chart.


He dropped out of school to write music for the Drifting Cowboys, drank heavily when his bandmates were drafted for World War II, and was dismissed by WSFA because of his alcoholism.


He released 11 #1 singles between 1948 and 1953, including “Your Cheatin Heart” and “Hey, Good Lookin .”

He married Audrey Williams on December 15, 1944, and after their spanorce on May 26, 1952, married Billie Jean Jones on October 18, 1952.
