About James Kenji López-Alt
American chef and food writer who is known for his work as a chef and owner of Wursthall restaurant in San Mateo, California. He is also known for being the author of The Food Lab and a contributor at Serious Eats.
He graduated from MIT where he majored in biology. He then began working as a test cook at Cook s Illustrated Magazine. He published his first book The Food Lab in September of 2015 and went on to open the Wursthall restaurant in March of 2018.
He won the James Beard Foundation Award for General Cooking for his book The Food Lab: Better Home Cooking Through Science.
