About Janet Fielding

Most well known during the early 1980s for her portrayal of Tegan Jovanka in the popular television series Doctor Who, she is also recognized for her guest spots on Shelley in 1982 and Minder in 1984. 


She made her television debut in a 1980 episode of the series Hammer House of Horror.


She ended her acting career in the early 1990s and subsequently worked as a talent agent and as an administrator for Women in Film and Television UK.

Born Janet Claire Mahoney, she spent her youth in Brisbane, Australia. Her marriage to British journalist and biographer Nicholas Davies lasted from 1982 until 1991.
