About Jasbir Sandhu
New Democratic Party member of the Canadian House of Commons. A representative of the Surrey North constituency, he began his term in 2011 and was appointed to the trade, national security, and human rights committees.
He worked his way through Simon Fraser University by waiting tables and driving a taxi cab. He went on to earn a Master of Business Administration degree from Royal Roads University.
He headed the Justice Institute of British Columbia and also organized a Vancouver cab driver training program.
