About Jeff George
Journeyman quarterback who played for eight teams over the course of his 13-year NFL career after being drafted with the first overall pick in the 1990 NFL Draft. He had his best season in 1997 as a member of the Oakland Raiders, when he led the league in passing yards.
Early Life of Jeff George
He attended Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he became the first-ever Gatorade National Player of the Year. He later won the Sammy Baugh Trophy as the nation’s top passer while attending the University of Illinois.
He was childhood friends and high school teammates with sportswriter Jason Whitlock, who wrote numerous columns trumpeting George’s skills.
He married a woman named Teresa and has children named Jordan, Jayden and Jeff.
He overtook Randall Cunningham as the starting quarterback in Minnesota during the 1999 season.
