About John Edrich

Fearless batsman considered one of the finest of his generation, represented England in Tests from 1963 to 1976, Member of the British Royal Empire.


He was a military man who played cricket for the Combined Services in 1956 and 1957.


He was diagnosed with a rare form of incurable leukemia known as Waldenstrom s in 2000.

His four cousins, Eric Edrich, Bill Edrich, Geoff Edrich, and Brian Edrich, all played first-class cricket.
