About John Esposito

American educator known as a professor of Islamic Studies and International Affairs at Georgetown University. He is the author of more than thirty-five acclaimed books, including 2008 s “Who Speaks for Islam? What a Billion Muslims Really Think.”


He lived at a Catholic monastery before earning his Masters degree in Theology from St. John s University.


He was won numerous awards for his work in the field of religious studies, including the Martin E. Marty Award for the Public Understanding of Religion from the American Academy of Religion.
