About Jules Shear

Wrote All Through The Night, a Cyndi Lauper hit, and If She Knew What She Wants, a hit for The Bangles.


He started writing songs as a teenager. He attended the University of Pittsburgh where he was a noted member of the Pitt Glee Club and acoustic group Wooden Music.


His first group, Funky Kings, attracted little attention. His second group, Jules and the Polar Bears, was beloved by critics but flopped commercially. He discovered that his songs tended to attract little attention when he sang them, but in the throats of other artists, they soared to the top of the charts.
