About Kristin Beck
Her 2013 memoir Warrior Princess: A U.S. Navy SEAL s Journey to Coming out Transgender, describes her struggle as a woman in a man s body and her ultimate embrace of a female identity.
She trained at the Virginia Military Institute and subsequently joined the United States Navy. Following a two-decade military career, she decided to undergo male-to-female sex reassignment surgery.
She was the subject of a 2014 CNN documentary titled Lady Valor: The Kristin Beck Story.
