  1. He got first interested in computers at the age of 6. He claims that he was the first kid in his elementary school to write an assignment in the word processor.
  2. At a very young age, he realized that he wanted to invent things and by the age of 12, he had realized that eventually, he was going to start a company.
  3. While he was studying at the University of Michigan, he managed to make an inkjet printer from Lego bricks. Also, to ensure that it printed large posters, he decided to reverse engineer the ink cartridge. Larry had also built the mechanics and electronics to drive it on his own.
  4. While at the University of Michigan, he was made the president of the Beta Epsilon chapter of the Eta Kappa Nu fraternity.
  5. Before he decided to study mathematical properties of the World Wide Web for his Ph.D. dissertation, he had considered selecting autonomous cars and telepresence for his dissertation research.
  6. The research project that eventually gave birth to Google was titled as BackRub. As part of the project, they created PageRank algorithm that went on to define Google s working mechanism.
  7. Page and fellow Google co-founder Sergey Brin decided to convert Page s dormitory room into machine laboratory. They used spare parts from inexpensive computers to build a machine that connected their rudimentary search engine with Stanford s computer network.
  8. In 1998, he and Brin officially established Google, Inc. The name of their new search engine was inspired by Googol, which is essentially a number that comprises of one followed by hundred zeros.
  9. In 2005, he spearheaded Google s acquisition of Android for $50 million. He wasn t the CEO of the company, the position which was held by Eric Schmidt, and Schmidt didn t have any knowledge of the acquisition.
  10. In August 2011, he led Google s acquisition of Motorola Mobility. With his acquisition, he aimed to protect Android from lawsuits by companies such as Microsoft and Apple.
  11. In September 2013, he announced the launch of his independent initiative, Calico, which was an R&D project in the field of biotechnology.
  12. He has made an investment in Tesla Motors, which aims to manufacture electronic cars on large scale. He has used Google.org, Google s philanthropic arm, to promote the use of electronic vehicles.
  13. He has made huge investments in renewable energy sources and was a key driving figure in the development and establishment of Google-owned wind farm power plants.
  14. In 2011, he bought the superyacht Senses as he paid $45 million to acquire it. The luxury yacht comes with 10 luxury suites, helipad, gym, and multi-level sun decks.
  15. In May 2013, he revealed that his right vocal cord was paralyzed from the cold that he caught previous summer. Also, his left vocal cord had been paralyzed since 1999.
  16. He is reported to have donated more than $20 million to a vocal-cord nerve-function research program pursued at the Voice Health Institute of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
