About Laurie Bird
Remembered for her roles in the 1970s films Two-Lane Blacktop, Cockfighter, and Annie Hall, Bird prematurely and tragically ended her acting career by committing suicide at the age of twenty-five.
Her first film acting experience — playing The Girl in the 1971 feature Two-Lane Blacktop — introduced her to director Monte Hellman, who would become her lover.
Author Tim Kinsella references Bird s name in the subtitle of his 2014 novel Let Go and Go On and On: Based on the Roles of Laurie Bird.
