About Lucien Littlefield

Prolific actor of silent films who played harassed old men in comedies and menacing mad scientists in horror films. He appeared in the 1929 film, Drag, the 1932 film, Downstairs, and the 1944 film, Zorro s Black Whip.


Short of stature and balding from his teens, he convincingly played Mary Pickford s father even though they were of a similar age.


Successfully transitioning to talking films, he provided different voices for his characters in WC Fields comedies and Paramount s B-movie series.
