About Mark Millar

Acclaimed comic book writer behind Wanted, Kick-Ass, The Secret Service, and Marvel s Civil War, all of which have been adapted into immensely successful feature films. He is also responsible for a number of titles for Sonic the Hedgehog, Superman, Fantastic Four, and The Ultimates.


He fell into the world of comics at the age of four when his brother Bobby took him to buy some while he was visiting his brother at university. While he took to the medium quickly, his parents didn t consider it a viable career and he instead studied politics and economics at Glasgow University for some time.


In 2004, he launched Millarworld, a publisher responsible for creator-owned works such as Kick-Ass, War Heroes, and The Unfunnies.

The youngest of six siblings, he has four older brothers and one older sister. His mother died when he was fourteen at the age of sixty-four and a year later, his father died at the age of sixty-five. He and ex-wife Gill have one daughter.
